Content Inside: NOVEMBER--DECEMBER 2004 WOLFPACK 19th Sendek has depth, help at point guard Football future bright--so lets stay upbeat From Lee Fowler, Director of Athletics Going into this football season there was great optimism and enthusiasm. And we never want that to change. We had played in four consecutive bowls during Chuck Amatos tenure and had more depth on defense. We also had confidence that Coach Amato would continue to do what he had done since day one-- find a way to win as he continued to recruit increasingly talented players. But realistically we also knew that we faced probably the toughest 2004 ACC Cross schedule in our history. Country Champions And we faced that schedule in a year when we had to adjust to life without one of the great all-time college quarterbacks and leaders, Phillip Rivers. What happened? Why was this such a frustrating season for our Wolfpackers, fans, players, and coaches? In short: 1)
