There are major advantages to brazing individual exhaust system components in comparison to welding or clamping them. Specifically, the connections dynamic loadbearing capacity is greater and, compared to welded connections, it is possible to reduce wall thicknesses and minimize the likelihood of leaky connections. Moreover, even at the early stage of making decisions on plant investment, costs can be lowered and space requirements minimized. This is made possible by a special BrazeTec brazing alloy that was developed specifically for high-temperature brazing connections and can be used at operating temperatures above 600°C.
